Watch the build of the Super Mario Expansion Set Bowser’s Airship.
This is a fabulous set that will remain built in our Lab for years to come for regular playing.
Bowser Airship Lego set contains extra characters Pirate Goomba, Kapek on a flying broom and Rocky Wrench. Super Mario who features in this build is part of the Super Mario Adventures Start Course bought separately.
Released in 2021 and received into Super Ideas Lab on Christmas Day it was in need of a rebuild after it was put to the ultimate test, a drop down the stairs, and it came off second best to the stairs.
Due to extraordinary organisation in the Super Ideas Lab all pieces were found (some during the build as little hands do wander off for the awesome colourful pieces from time to time for their own builds).
Build is for 8+ and it is very intricate in parts. I’m impressed our 7 year old Lab Tech was able to build it first time around in a solid day long sitting.
This time it took me just over two and a half hours. Comment to share your build time and favourite pieces/build feature. Mine has to be the expansion technics mechanism. It wasn’t smooth the first build by 7 yr old so the rebuild allowed for pieces to be firmly secured and it now smoothly transitions from Airship to battle zone. The hiding Rocky Wrench is another favourite.
Instructions used for this build are from the LEGO instructions library as that is my preferred version, less storage on the iPad as I work.

For those with the Super Mario App the instructions are found there and are vey helpful if you wish to use the interactive feature to turn the pieces in 3D to check orientation and connection placement of bricks. I fumble and mix up a few times during this build. Let me know if you spot those.
